Get started with KeyHelp
KeyHelp is the NeoHeberg web hosting panel, available at https://web.neoheberg.fr. Everything about your site is configured there: domain names, files, MySQL databases, mailboxes and certificates. Available resources depend on your plan.
Sign in and find your way
Use your service credentials, also listed in the NeoHeberg dashboard. The panel separates domains and subdomains, file management and FTP/SFTP access, databases, email addresses, SSL certificates and backups.
Start by checking the service status and the PHP version attached to the domain. A newly created domain may take a few minutes to appear fully.
Create and point a domain
- Add the domain in the panel and note the document root it shows: this is the folder you will fill.
- At your registrar, create an
Arecord to the hosting IPv4 address and anAAAArecord to IPv6 if you have one. - Wait for resolution, then test with
dig +short A your-domain.com. - Upload a test
index.htmlfile to the root and open the domain in a browser.
A subdomain has its own root: do not mix files from two sites.
Files and databases
Prefer SFTP over plain FTP: the password and files do not travel in clear text. The host, user and port are shown in the panel.
Usual permissions are 755 for directories and 644 for files. Never use 777: it makes a file writable by every account on the server.
For a database, create the database and a dedicated user with a long, unique password, then grant that user access to that database only. The host stays localhost: the database has no reason to be reachable from the internet.
Email, SSL and backups
Create a mailbox in the panel with a quota. Copy the IMAP and SMTP settings shown, then check the MX, SPF and DKIM records before sending an important message.
Enable the Let's Encrypt certificate once the domain resolves to the hosting: HTTP validation fails while DNS still points elsewhere. Then force the HTTPS redirect and test:
curl -sI http://your-domain.com/ | head -n 5Backups depend on the plan. If the option is offered, check frequency and retention, and regularly download a copy off the server: a backup stored in the same place does not protect you from a mistake.
Check everything
- The domain answers over HTTPS with a valid certificate.
- A file uploaded over SFTP is visible at the expected URL.
- The site connects to the database with its dedicated user.
- A message sent from the mailbox arrives, and an incoming message appears.
- A recent backup exists and you know where to retrieve it.
If you are stuck, support runs through the dashboard and Discord; the Contact page lists the channels. Never share a password in a ticket: give the service name and the exact error message.
