Discover NeoHeberg web hosting

3 min read07 November 2026

NeoHeberg web hosting is a shared environment for PHP sites. You manage domains, files, databases and mailboxes from KeyHelp, without administering an operating system. Understanding that boundary prevents you from looking for root commands this service does not offer.

1. KeyHelp, your panel

KeyHelp is available at https://web.neoheberg.fr. It brings together domains, files, databases, email addresses and SSL certificates. Every action goes through the interface: create a domain, upload a file, import a database or issue a certificate.

You have a hosting account, not root access. System updates, the web server, PHP and MySQL are maintained by the platform.

2. What you get

Item Detail
PHP 8.4, with the usual extensions
Database MySQL, through the KeyHelp interface
Files web file manager, FTP and SFTP
SSL Let's Encrypt certificates per domain
Email mailboxes, redirects and aliases
Domains main domain, subdomains and aliases
Server language PHP; no Node.js or Python daemon

Resources (storage, databases, mailboxes, traffic) depend on the selected plan. See the pricing page for the exact comparison.

3. What you cannot do

  • Install a system package with apt or change the server's global configuration.
  • Run a persistent service on an arbitrary port.
  • Access the kernel, systemd or files outside your space.
  • Replace PHP or MySQL with a custom-compiled version.

If your project needs these, a VPS is the right tool. For a Node.js/Python bot or API without system administration, application hosting is a closer fit.

4. First settings

  1. Domain: add it in KeyHelp and point its DNS records to the hosting.
  2. SSL: enable Let's Encrypt after DNS propagation.
  3. Email address: create a mailbox and configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  4. Database: create the database and a dedicated user, then import your tables.
  5. Files: place the site in the domain root, with an index.php.

Do not skip DNS: a certificate cannot be issued for a domain that does not point to the server yet.

5. Limits and verification

  • A temporary phpinfo.php file confirms the PHP version and extensions; delete it afterwards.
  • A minimal index.php prints OK before you install a full application.
  • curl -I https://your-domain.tld/ should return 200, and curl -I http://your-domain.tld/ a 301 redirect.
  • Diagnose PHP errors in the domain logs, not by showing errors to the public.
