All of our VPS servers come with a public IPv6 address so you can connect to the Internet of the future. Find out what this means for your projects.
What You Can Do with IPv6
Hosting a website: With a proxy like Cloudflare (free), your site becomes accessible via both IPv4 and IPv6 with no effort. Ideal for WordPress, static sites, or Node.js/Python applications.
Docker & Containers: Docker natively supports IPv6. You can assign public addresses to each container, simplifying direct communication.
Pterodactyl Server (node): Pterodactyl nodes work perfectly with IPv6 to host your game servers (Minecraft, Garry's Mod, etc.) on a virtual local area network.
API & Back End: Any modern application (Node, Python, Go) can listen on IPv6 and be called by other services over IPv6.
Key Considerations & Solutions
Minecraft Java: The game supports IPv6, but most players only have IPv4. Solution: Use a free proxy like TCPShield or a VPN tunnel to make your server accessible to everyone.
GitHub (clone, push): GitHub does not support IPv6 connections. Your VPS has outbound IPv4 connectivity via NAT, which allows it to clone, push, and interact with GitHub without any issues.
Other third-party services: Some APIs or Git repositories may also be inaccessible over IPv6. The built-in outbound IPv4 connectivity automatically resolves this issue.
Emails: Sending emails from an IPv6 address is complicated. We recommend using an external service such as SendGrid or Mailgun, regardless of the protocol.
Dedicated IPv4 Option: For maximum compatibility, you can add a public IPv4 address to your VPS for just €1.50/month.
IPv6 offers a vast number of addresses, a direct connection without NAT, and often lower latency. It's ideal for most modern projects, and with our workaround solutions, you'll never be blocked.
