Deploying Node.js or Python
1 min read20 October 2026
App hosting runs your Node.js or Python code without you administrating a machine.
1. Prepare the project
- A clear start command (for example
npm startorpython main.py). - Declared dependencies (
package.json,requirements.txt). - A server listening on the port provided by the platform (environment variable), never a hard-coded port.
2. Create the service
- In the dashboard, pick an App hosting plan.
- Select the runtime (Node.js or Python).
- Import the project or provide the files, then start.
3. Configure
- Add your environment variables (tokens, database) in the service settings.
- Never commit a token to Git.
- Check the logs after the first start to confirm the app is listening correctly.
4. Keep the service online
- Watch resource usage in the dashboard.
- Set up a backup as soon as user data exists.
- For a database, pick a plan that includes one: allocations are listed on the service page.
